Vingpin?

Vingpin is a small consulting company. Right now it’s actually as small as it can be. Vingpin’s only employee is Lars, which is a great advantage for you as a customer. No matter the assignment the entire company will be focused on you! Vingpin was founded to help customers with their network solutions.

The goal is not to become the biggest company, but one of the best in this niche. To help city networks and operators with configuration, design, and troubleshooting, primarily related to Nokia SROS, but we are not focused on only one vendor. We are extremely curious and want to learn new stuff. If you have a fun assignment, don’t hesitate to contact us.

What about the name?

Lars likes penguins, Pingvin in Swedish means penguin, but there are a lot of companies named Pinvgin, so we flipped it around to Vingpin.

The staff

Lars Gustavsson Certified NRSII #1365

Lars is a network consultant with many years of experience in the city network business. He has primarily worked with city networks and operators. Where he helped them with network design, implementation projects, and advanced troubleshooting.

His main areas of expertise are MPLS, L2/L3-VPN, Multicast, and subscriber-management on Nokia SROS platforms. Lars has also been responsible for the design and implementation of multiple GPON installations in Sweden and abroad.

Lars lives in Linköping and in his spare time he tries to get better at his photography and spends time with his family.

Previous assignments

  • Design and implementation of IPv6 for residential and corporate customers for multiple ISPs. Lars developed training material and arranged IPv6 workshop for the customer’s network team.

  • Workshop and design for the “Swedish model" of network configuration for a Spanish operator using centralized BNGs. Inventorying legacy BRAS setup and migration of 40 000 customers. Designing redundancy using BGP towards the existing network and traffic engineering for optimal usage of the new BNGs.

  • Design and implementation of Nokia BNGs for a national city network roll-out. Design and configuration of ISAM platform for FTTH subscribers. Developed scripts for stream-lined provisioning of FTTH equipment to pre-configure the platforms before shipping out directly to site. Inter-op tests between Nokia MPLS routers and other vendors. Installation and implementation of NETadmin system.

  • Design and installation of a new GPON system using MPLS from the edge. Developed training material and arranged technical training for the customer’s technical staff.

  • Migration from Ericsson Redback router to new Nokia BNGs. Analyzing and migration of Ericsson configuration to Nokia. Implementing redundancy toward the ISPs and towards the city network using SRRP/VRRP and BGP.
